Summary

Based on the Deep Security Release Life Cycle and support policy, the end of support date for the Deep Security 11 Feature Release Agents is December 20, 2019.

We have received feedback from customers that the product experience for Deep Security as a Service does not allow customers to adequately control their intent to commit to the Major Release or Feature Release support policy when deployment scripts are used.  As a result, additional time is required for customers to move from the Deep Security 11 Feature Release Agents to a newer release of software.

We have taken two steps to resolve this situation:

1.    To provide additional time for customers to upgrade agents that have already been deployed, we are extending the end of support date for the Deep Security 11 Feature Release agents (11.1, 11.2, 11.3) from December 20, 2019 to December 31, 2020.

2.    To prevent this situation from reoccurring in the future we have introduced a new feature called Agent Version Control.  Agent version control provides security operations teams control over what agents are deployed, even after the default deployment script has been distributed to internal customers.  For more information, please see https://help.deepsecurity.trendmicro.com/version-control.html.

•    This extension is designed to help customers transition their deployment as easily as possible to a Deep Security 12, or later, release of the Deep Security Agent

•    This extension applies to all deployments - Deep Security as a Service, Deep Security when deployed through AWS Marketplace or Azure Marketplace, as well as on premise deployments

•    This extension includes continued support for kernel updates for customers using the 11.1, 11.2, 11.3 Feature Release agents on Linux until December 31, 2020

It is not our intention to provide agent updates or hotfixes for the 11.x Feature Release agents to address support cases or vulnerabilities as part of this support extension.

In any cases where a software update is required (vulnerabilities, hotfixes, or in response to support cases), given customers will have to upgrade agents to apply the update, the software fixes will be delivered in a Deep Security 12.0 or later release of the agents.
