Performing a manual pattern update for an OfficeScan/Apex One server

To perform a manual pattern update:

  1. Create a folder and then share it with Read & Write permission.

    For example:

    \\ApexOneOnPrem\Update\

  2. Go to the Active Update server by typing the following link in a web browser:

    http://osce14-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/server.ini

     
    The Active Update server will vary depending on the version of the OfficeScan or Apex One server. Just go to Updates > Server > Update Source, and then copy the Active Update Server link and add /server.ini to the end of the link.

  3. Search for "ioth" in the server.ini file.
  4. Download all the ioth files by adding a path on the Active Update server link.

    For example:

    http://osce14-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/pattern/icrc/pattern/icrc/ioth_1569300.1569500

  5. Download all the .sig files for the ioth files that downloaded by replacing all the extensions with .sig.

    For example:

    http://osce14-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/pattern/icrc/ioth1569500.sig
    http://osce14-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/pattern/icrc/pattern/icrc/ioth_1569300.sig
    http://osce14-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/pattern/icrc/pattern/icrc/ioth_1569100.sig



    http://osce14-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/pattern/icrc/pattern/icrc/ioth_1566900.sig
    http://osce14-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/pattern/icrc/pattern/icrc/ioth_1566700.sig

  6. Create a subfolder inside the shared folder similar to the Active Update server.ini.

    For example:

    \\ApexOneOnPrem\Update\pattern\icrc

  7. Copy the server.ini from …\Trend Micro\Apex One\PCCSRV\Download folder and put it in the shared folder.

    For example:

    \\ApexOneOnPrem\Update\server.ini

  8. Log on to the Apex One console.
  9. Go to Updates > Server > Update Source.
  10. Select the UNC path, and then input the shared folder link and save the settings.

  11. Go to Updates > Server > Manual Update and then select the target pattern you need to update.
  12. Click the Update button to start the update process.

  13. Check if the desired pattern has already been updated to the latest version.
