Access via Remote Desktop Protocol(RDP) hangs after providing credentials

Note : Other processes such as Powershell, SystemPropertiesComputerName.exe(process for joining domain action) may also encounter the same issue

Root cause

Since Deep Security Agent  version 12.0 Update 2 and 11.0 Update 15, the Anti-Malware(AM) driver enables a new function to check if the target file is a Portable Executable (PE) file or not.
 

In certain environments, Windows may access a remote file after entering the credentials, and if the AM driver takes a long time to check the remote file is PE, the process will be blocked by the Anti-Malware module  before the check is complete.

 

Solution :

The issue is fixed in the following DSA builds: .

       -          Deep Security Agent  12.0 Update 9 and later
-          Deep Security Agent  11.0 Update 21 and later

Please make sure to upgrade or use the DSA versions above.
