Summary

ServerProtect IS/NS server machines which do not have these certificates may encounter update issues.

To view the symptom:

  1. Open the ServerProtect install path. As an example, C:\Program Files\Trend\SProtect.
  2. Right-click one binary property such as AgentClient.dll.
  3. Click Details for the digital signature. Under the Digital Signature Information, the following error can be found,

"The certificate in the signature cannot be verified".

This issue occurs when ServerProtect is installed on a Windows machine (Windows server 2008/2012) without direct Internet connection for downloading certificate updates.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Download the root and intermediate certificates from the following links:
  2. Install each certificate on the affected ServerProtect server:
    1. Input the "mmc" in the Command Console.

    2. Navigate to File > Add or Remove Snap-in.

    3. Choose "Certificates" to add, then click computer account to finish.

    4. Choose "Certificates(Local Computer)", then "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".
    5. Right click Certificates > All Tasks > Import. Import the certificates needed. The certificate issue should be resolved at this point.
  3. After all the certificates are installed, verify all the ServerProtect binary signature detail information. The message "The digital signature is ok", should be seen.

  4. Verify if it can be downloaded successfully.
