Generating Mail Exchange (MX) records to use in Trend Micro Email Security (EMS)

This article shows the procedure on getting MX records which can be used in EMS/EMS - Inbound Filtering servers for email filtering.

To get the MX records, do the following:

  1. Log in to the EMS/EMS - Inbound Filtering portal, then go to Domains > Add.
  2. Enter your managed domain(s) information. Do this for every domain that you want to include in your managed domain list.
  3. Click the Verification Method link, and look for the option to add MX record.

  4. You will see the needed MX record to be used in your DNS Server.

Do not change the MX records until you have received the welcome or test email. If you didn't receive the welcome/test email, contact Trend Micro Technical Support.

When modifying MX records, the full transition (DNS propagation) may take up to 48 hours. During this time, we recommend that you do NOT discontinue any on-premise security. You may still receive some email directly until the transition period is complete.
