Trend Micro Mobile Security as a Service includes the following modules which may cause the corresponding personal data to be transmitted to Trend Micro. Device Security Scan

Trend Micro Mobile Security as a Service scans all apps currently installed on the device and checks the Wi-Fi network status and device configuration:

  • Automatically upon the first launch of the app after the user accepts the DCN and EULA
  • Periodically based on the system settings
  • When the user triggers a security scan

  • List of installed apps
  • Package name
  • Version code
  • APK size
  • Hash of DEX file
  • Android ID
  • Device hardware information (including brand, model, and manufacturer)
  • Wi-Fi network information
  • Device configuration

Web Reputation

Web Reputation collects this data to protect users from malicious web content.

 
Disabling Web Reputation scanning greatly impacts the ability of Mobile Security to detect malicious URLs.

  • Website URLs visited
  • List of installed apps
  • Package name
  • Hashed Android ID
Console location

To enable:

  1. On the home page of the Mobile Security app, tap Web Reputation, turn on VPN, and set up a local VPN.
  2. Access the Settings menu on your device, tap Accessibility, and turn on the apps.

To disable:

  1. On the home page of the Mobile Security app, tap Web Reputation and turn off VPN.
  2. Access the Settings menu on your device, tap Accessibility, and turn off the allowed apps.
