Updating Endpoint Sensor server database server IP address

Know the procedure in changing the IP Address of Endpoint Sensor database without impacting its functionalities and communications with the Endpoint Sensor server and agents, DDAN and other incorporated services.

Follow these steps:

 
Before proceeding, it is recommended to backup database files.
 
  1. Stop the following services in the following order:
    1. TrendMicroEndpointSensor Service
    2. SQL Server (SMARTSENSOR)
  2. Open /<TMES Installation folder>/config.xml and look for the section name <SQLServer><source>.
  3. If the value is IP address, then TMES communicates with the database via IP. You can change the value to whatever the database's new FQDN/IP is, but the database's login username and password should remain the same.
  4. Start the following services in the following order:
    1. SQL Server (SMARTSENSOR)
    2. TrendMicroEndpointSensor Service
