- Download the latest copy of the pattern file on the ScanMail server. Click the download icon to be redirected to the Download Center where you can get the pattern file.
- Stop the following ScanMail services:
- ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange Master Service
- ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange Remote Configuration Server
- Back-up and replace lpt$vpn.xxx with the latest pattern file that was downloaded to the following directories:
- ..\engine\vsapi\pattern\latest
- ..\engine\vsapi\pattern\primary
- ..\engine\vsapi\pattern\secondary
- Restart the following services:
- SMEX Master Service
- ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange Remote Configuration Server
- Open the SMEX management console and verify that it is using the latest pattern file.
