    • Updated:
    • 19 Apr 2013
    • Product/Version:
    • ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows/Novell Netware 5.8
    • Platform:
    • Windows 2000 Advanced Server
    • Windows 2000 Server
    • Windows 2003 Enterprise
    • Windows 2003 Standard
    • Windows 2008 Enterprise
    • Windows 2008 Standard
Summary
Deploying hot fixes to the Normal Server fails and the following error codes appear in the HotfixResult.log file in the \SPROTECT directory when deploying a Hot fix for ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows/Novell Netware:
  • OHOWUTY2=start hotfix process: failed. Error code=[2]
  • ODDWPVC4=start hotfix process: failed. Error code=[5]

The codes are Windows error codes and you can get their meaning by running "net helpmsg <error #>" on the command prompt. example: "NET HELPMSG 5".
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.
Error 2 can happen when the eventmsg2.dll file is missing in the Normal Server.
As a workaround, copy the eventmsg2.dll file to the Normal Server Sprotect directory, and then redeploy the hot fix.
Error 5: Access is denied.
Error 5 occurs possibly because the Normal Server has a special login credential different from the account ID normally used to manage the machine.
As a workaround, you should check if it shows up as online on the console. You canalso enable the spnt.log on the Information and Normal Servers.
