Error 2140 appears on the ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows/Novell Netware 5.x Normal Server

This error appears if the ServerProtect serial number was not registered successfully. Because of this, you may not be unable to use the program.

To resolve this issue, do the following:
Important: Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Expand the following registry hive:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\ServerProtect\CurrentVersion
  3. Double-click the LicenseNumber registry key.
  4. Type the correct serial number in the Value data field, using the "XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" format.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Restart the Trend ServerProtect service.
    If the issue persists, reinstall the ServerProtect Normal Server.
