To play the videos, bypass the scanning done by IWSS/IWSVA:

Option I: Modify the scan policy

  1. Open the management console.
  2. Go to HTTP > Scan Policies and then select the appropriate policy.
  3. In the Virus Scan Rule tab, type the following in the MIME content-type to skip field under Scan These File Types (if not blocked):

    >application/octet-stream video/mp4 video/x-flv

  4. Click Save.
  5. Restart the IWSA/IWSS/IWSVA HTTP service.

Option II: Modify the intscan.ini file

  1. Open the intscan.ini file, which is in these locations by default:
    • For IWSS for Windows: ..\Program Files\Trend Micro\InterScan Web Security Suite\
    • For IWSS for Linux, IWSA, IWSVA: /var/iwss/
  2. Look for the following parameters:

    server_skip_content=
    Server_skip_content_sp=

  3. Change the value of the parameters to these:

    server_skip_content=Content-Type: video/x-flv;
    server_skip_content_sp=;

  4. Save and close the file.
  5. Restart the IWSS/IWSA/IWSVA HTTP service/daemon.

Option III: Activate deferred scanning

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Go to HTTP Malware Scan > Policies > Virus Scan Rule > Large File Handling and select Deferred scanning.
