This article provides information for the following scenarios:
- When you install ScanMail for Exchange (SMEX) on Exchange 2003, you need to choose if you want to use Junk Email integration (The Junk Email folder is already present in Outlook) or End User Quarantine (EUQ Spam folder). This entry provides the procedure on how to change your initial choice.
- When you install SMEX on Exchange 2007, you cannot choose to install using EUQ. This entry provides the procedure on how to activate EUQ.
Do the following first before proceeding with the scenario procedures:
- Make sure that your product has the latest service packs or patches.
- If you intend to use EUQ on MS Exchange Server 2007 Mailbox Server Role, make sure to install the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1 component on the server.
- Open the Registry Editor.
Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\TrendMicro\ScanMail for Exchange\CurrentVersion.
- Look for and right-click the "JunkEmailintegration" key.
- Click Modify and change the DWORD value to "0".
- Look for and right-click the "EUQActivated" key.
- Click Modify and change the DWORD value to "1".
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Open the Services window and do the following:
- Restart the ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange Master Service
- Change the ScanMail EUQ Monitor service from "Disabled" to "Automatic" and then restart it.
- To activate the EUQ Tool:
SMEX
- Log on to the SMEX management console.
- Go to Administration > Spam Maintenance.
- Provide the "User name" and "Password" and then click Activate
- Log on to the WFBS management console.
- Select Security Settings and then select messaging component.
- Go to Configure > Operation > Spam Maintenance.
- Provide the "User name" and "Password" and then click Activate.
- Open the Registry Editor.
