During installation, you have the option to use either the embedded (Derby) database or an external database with the Deep Security Manager servers.

The embedded database is best used for managing up to one million log entries per month. This translates to approximately 10 computers.
Important: We recommend using Derby for evaluation purposes only. All production environments should use external databases such as Microsoft SQL and Oracle.
