This article explains why you cannot modify domain information on the HES console and details how to resolve the issue.
Upon activating a domain in HES, the added domain enters an “Adding” status. At this point, the domain is still being provisioned and the domain settings cannot be modified yet. However, the domain is grayed out and you are still unable to change the IP of the domain.
When the newly added domain is in “Adding” state, it means that the domain’s MX record is not yet redirected to HES. Once HES identifies that the MX record has been redirected to the service properly, the newly added domain will then enter the “Activated” state.
To change the domain information:
- Log on to the HES console.
-
Go to Domains then click Add.

HES periodically checks the MX record redirection of the newly added domain. The option “Check MX Record” does the MX checking for the domains in “Adding” state immediately/on-demand.
It may take up to 24 hours for full DNS propagation. If you have just changed your MX redirection, it may take HES up to 24 hours to recognize the change.
