The Detection Exclusion List does not work in Threat Discovery Appliance (TDA)

    • Updated:
    • 5 Jun 2014
    • Product/Version:
    • Threat Discovery Appliance 2.5
    • Platform:
    • Not Applicable N/A
Summary
After adding IP addresses to the Detection Exclusion List (TDA Wed UI > Detections > Detection Exclusion List > Potential Threat Detections), TDA still reports virus detection for these IPs.
Details
Public
This happens because the Exclusion List is designed to eliminate the potential threat logs. Therefore, rule ID 0 (detected by the scan engine and Network Virus pattern) and OCS log (known virus e.g. rile 138) will not be removed from the logs.
Note: Rule ID 0 is a hidden rule.
