Enabling SSH access on Deep Security Virtual Appliance (DSVA)

This solution allows you to enable the SSH functionality on the base DSVA operating system, which is disabled by default.

To access the command line interface remotely over this protocol:

For Deep Security 9.0 and below

  1. Go to the Center Server client and access the DSVA console.
  2. Press ALT + F2 to open the non-graphical interface.
  3. Enter the password, which is "dsva" by default. This opens the command line interface.
  4. Execute the following command:

    ssh-server start

    The result should appear like this:

For Deep Security 9.5

  1. Go to the Center Server client and access the DSVA console.
  2. Press ALT + F2 to open the non-graphical interface.
  3. Enter the password, which is "dsva" by default. This opens the command line interface.
  4. Execute this command:

    sudo –s

    Type "dsva" for the sudo password.

    /etc/init.d/sshd start

    The result should appear like this:

    Run the 'sudo –s' command
