Summary
Manually remove TMEE if you encounter any of the following:
- You are unable to reinstall the product.
- You want to ensure all TMEE components are removed.
Details
To manually uninstall TMEE:
- Right-click the TMEE Padlock tray icon, and then click Shutdown > Exit.
- Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Trend Micro Encryption for Email.
- Delete the contents of C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Encryption for Email.
- Delete the C:\Documents and Settings\username>\Application Data\Identum folder.
Note: Windows Vista has this folder under C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Identum folder.
- Delete the following registry keys:
Important: Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
- For 32-bit OS:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Identum Limited
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\TMEC
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Identum Limited
- For 64-bit OS:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Identum Limited
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\TrendMicro\TMEC
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Identum Limited
- For 32-bit OS:
- Restart the machine.
