Using the Client Packager tool to manually update the client installer

Learn how to use the Client Packager tool. This procedure can also be used for the following scenarios:

  • The client installer cannot install properly.
  • Users want to generate a new client installer and replace old ones after patch installation.

To use the Client Packager, do one of the following:

  1. Go to %Security Server Path%\PCCSRV\Admin\Utility\ClientPackager and double-click ClnPack.exe to generate a new MSI package.

  2. For Package Type, select Setup.
  3. For Windows operating system type, see below:
    • For x86/32-bit Operating Systems, select Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008/7 on x86.
    • For x64/64-bit Operating Systems, select Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008/7 on x64.
  4. For Scan Method, select Conventional Scan.
  5. For Output file, name the MSI package and save it to %Security Server Path%\PCCSRV\Download\.
    • For x86/32-bit  OS, use "StandardWin32.msi".

    • For x64/64-bit OS, use "StandardX64.msi".

  6. Click Yes when prompted to replace the old MSI package.
  1. Go to %Security Server Path%\PCCSRV\Admin\Utility\ClientPackager and double-click ClnPack.exe to generate a new MSI package.

  2. Under Package Type, select Setup.
  3. For Windows operating system type, see below:
    • For x86/32-bit Operating Systems, select Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008/7 on x86.
    • For x64/64-bit Operating Systems, select “Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008/7 on x64” option
  4. For Scan Method, select Smart Scan.
  5. Under Output file, name the MSI package and save it to %Security Server Path%\PCCSRV\Download.
    • For x86/32-bit OS, use "cloudWin32.msi".

    • For x64/64-bit OS, use "cloudX64.msi".

  6. Click Yes when prompted to replace the old MSI package.
