Excluding a file or application from the anti-malware scan of Worry-Free Business Security Services (WFBS-SVC)

Summary

A certain application or file on your computer was detected as a malware by the WFBS-SVC agent. However, you are sure that the application or file is legitimate and does not carry malware and you want it to be excluded from the Real-time/Manual/Scheduled scan conducted by the WFBS-SVC agent.

To exclude the application or file from the anti-malware scan:

  1. Log on to the WFBS-SVC administrator web console.
  2. Do one of the following:

    In Live Status page:

    1. Click Real-Time Scan under Common Tasks.

      Select Real-time Scan

    2. Select Scan Settings, and then choose the group you want to configure.

      Select a group to edit the Real-Time Scan settings

    3. Click Confirm.

    In the Devices page:

    1. Click Device.
    2. Select the group, and then click Configure Policy.

      Click Configure Policy

  3. In the Windows Device tab, select Antivirus/Anti-spyware from the list.

  4. Expand Exclusions.
  5. Make sure that the Enable Exclusions check box is selected.
  6. Make sure that the Do not scan the directories where Trend Micro products are installed check box is selected.
  7. To exclude directories, files, or file extensions:
    • For specific directories, type the directory names under Enter the directory path (e.g. C:\temp\ExcludeDir), and then click Add.

      To remove a folder, select the folder, and then click Delete.

    • For specific files, type the file names, or the file name with full path, and then click Add.

      To remove a file, select the file, and then click Delete.

    • For file extensions, specify the files to exclude based on their extensions. To use specified extensions, select the extensions to protect from the Select file extension from the list, and then click Add. To specify an extension that is not in the list, type the extension below the text box, and then click Add.

      To remove an extension, select the extension, and then click Remove.

  8. Once you are done, click Save.

    Wait for 15 minutes for the WFBS-SVC agent to update and apply the changes.

  1. Log on to the WFBS-SVC administrator web console.
  2. Click Device.
  3. Select the group, and then click Configure Policy.

    Click Configure Policy

  4. Go to the Mac tab.
  5. Make sure that the Enable Exclusions check box is selected.
  6. To exclude files or file extensions:
    • For specific files, type the file names, or the file name with full path, and then click Add.

      To remove a file, select the file, and then click Delete.

    • For file extensions, specify the files to exclude based on their extensions. To use specified extensions, select the extensions to protect from the Select file extension from the list, and then click Add. To specify an extension that is not in the list, type the extension below the text box, and then click Add.

      To remove an extension, select the extension, and then click Remove.

  7. Click Save.
