Users experience slow HTTP browsing when using InterScan Web Security Suite (IWSS) 3.1 with OfficeScan server

IWSS is running on a server where OfficeScan is installed. When users try to browse the Internet through IWSS as the proxy, web browser becomes relatively slow.

 

When users stop the service, the speed will be better. If the connection is too slow, the error message "Page cannot be displayed" may appear.

To resolve this issue, you need to stop the OfficeScan TMProxy service as this interferes with the HTTP scanning of IWSS. The tmproxy module will scan all the HTTP requests from a protected client. If this client is IWSS, it will interfere with the usual task of IWSS on scanning HTTP traffic.

 

Since HTTP scanning will be done through the IWSS scanning module, running tmproxy from OfficeScan on the same server is no longer needed. It will only cause redundancy and will affect the browsing speed of the clients using IWSS as the proxy.
