Know why filenames of attachments are printed twice on email notification stamps when creating a policy/rule in HES.
You can create and modify rules/policies in the HES console. When creating a rule/policy in HES to inform the intended recipient about a high risk attachment (.exe), the filename of the attachment is printed twice on the email notification stamp.
This issue occurs when the attachment type (.exe) is defined twice on the attribute of the rule/policy.
To resolve the issue:
- Log in to the HES console.
- For US: https://tm.hes.trendmicro.com
- For Europe, Middle East, Africa: https://tm.hes.trendmicro.eu
- Click the Inbound Protection tab then Policy and choose the policy to be modified.
-
Under the Advanced section, click the attachment name or extension and the true file type criteria.
You will find that .exe is defined on both fields.
- Remove the .exe from one of the criteria.
- Save the changes.
