Summary

Enable verbose logging in your IWSVA machine to capture the log files needed for analysis by Trend Micro Technical Support.

Public

IWSVA includes a verbose logging mode that you can use to observe system performance over time. You can enable verbose logging in the intscan.ini file and then restart the affected IWSVA daemon.

Because verbose logging includes more details and the polling is more frequent, verbose logs can become large in a short span of time. We recommend enabling verbose logging only if you are or will be working with Trend Micro Technical Support on an issue.

To enable verbose logging:

  1. Open the /etc/iscan/intscan.ini file using a text editor, such as vi.
  2. Look for the verbose parameter in the section that you are troubleshooting - [ftp], [http], or [notification].
  3. Change the value as needed:

    verbose=0 (disabled)
    verbose=1 (enabled)

  4. Save and close the file.
  5. Restart the daemon by turning off and turning on the HTTP(s) Traffic and FTP Traffic links in the Summary page.
    Alternatively, you can run the relevant S99 script via a terminal to restart the daemons.
