To resolve the issue, do the following:
  1. Exclude from Realtime Scan the directories where the backup is stored in Backup Exec.
    1. Log on to the WFBS console and configure the computer/computer group where BackupExec is installed.
    2. Click Antivirus/Anti-spyware.
    3. Specify the directories with the BackupExec installation and add them under "Exclusions".
    4. Under "Do not scan files with the following extensions" section, add the .BKF file extension manually.
    5. Click Save.
  2. Exclude from behavior monitoring the executable files from Backup Exec.
    1. On the WFBS console, configure the computer/computer group where Backup Exec is installed.
    2. Select Behavior Monitoring.
    3. Enter the following paths and click Add to Approved List.
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\beremote.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\beserver.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\bengine.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\benetns.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\pvlsvr.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\BkUpexec.exe
    4. Select Trusted Programs.
    5. Enter the following paths and click Add to Approved List.
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\beremote.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\beserver.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\bengine.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\benetns.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\pvlsvr.exe
      • ~\Symantec\Backup Exec\BkUpexec.exe
