Installation of ServerProtect for Linux (SPLX) 3.0 fails on 64-bit platforms

ServerProtect for Linux installation on 64-bit will fail due to binary dependencies. This happens even if the following required binaries are already installed:

  • compat-libstdc++-296
  • gtk2
  • pango
  • atk

This happens when 64-bit binaries have been installed.

SPLX package is based on 32-bit binaries. During installation, this package will look for the 32-bit binaries. Since 64-bit binaries are installed, the installation will fail.

Therefore, for 64-bit system, it is recommended to install 32-bit binaries.
