There are instances when you need to manually uninstall Core Protection Module server component. This is useful when the Core Protection Module - Remove Server Component task does not successfully complete.
Please do the following:
- Back up and remove the %Server_Component_Install_Path%\Core Protection Module Server folder.
- Open the Registry Editor.
Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\CPMsrv and delete this registry key.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Remove the %Program Files%\InstallShield Installation Information\{9D1991A6-039E-4D63-92B3-6FEC3B42CE33} folder.
On Windows 2008, the \InstallShield Installation Information\ folder may or may not be hidden. Edit the Windows property to temporarily show hidden files and folders so that you can delete the necessary directory.
The fixlet Core Protection Module - Install Server Component task should now be relevant again. Otherwise, reboot the ESP server.
