Summary
The Security Agent has two services that handle all its features collectively. To troubleshoot compatibility and performance issues, isolate the feature or module that causes the problem.
Learn how to disable specific features or modules of the Security Agent individually through the Disable Module tool.
Details
To resolve the issue:
- Download and extract the Disable Module tool to the computer with issue. The password is "trend".
- Right-click the Security Agent icon in the taskbar and select Exit Worry-Free Business Security to unload the Security Agent.
- Run the DisableModuleTool.exe file. The following window appears:
Note: On Windows 7, Vista, and Windows Server 2008 R2, you need to run the tool as administrator. - Use the Module/Feature button to toggle between features and modules.
- Disable a feature to list it as "Off".
- Select a feature from the Choose Module dropdown list.
- Select Disable from the dropdown list.
- Click Set to confirm.
- Go to Start > All Programs > Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security Agent and click Worry-Free Business Security Agent to load the Security Agent.
If the issue persists, repeat step 5 for each feature until you found the feature causing the issue. Unload the Security Agent before applying any changes in the Disable Module tool. Reload the Security Agent afterwards for the changes to take effect.
List of issues and the features that are likely to be causing them:
- For network issue, disable the following features:
- Web Threat Protection
- Proxy Hooking
- Firewall Protection
- For scanning issue, disable the following features:
- Manual Scan
- Behavior Monitor
- Real-Time Event Hooking
