To activate the DSA via command line:

  1. Open the Deep Security Manager (DSM) console.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • For Deep Security 8.0 and below, go to System > System Settings > Computers tab.
    • For Deep Security 9.0 and above, go to Administration > System Settings > Agents tab.
  3. Under the Remote Activation section, enable the Allow Agent Initiated Activation option and select For any computers.
  4. On the Security profile to assign (when no security profile is currently assigned) section, select the security profile that you wish to assign or select None.
  5. Enable the Allow agent to specify Hostname option.
  6. Select Reactivate the existing computer if the computer name already exists.
  7. Run the following syntax on the Deep Security Agent:

    Windows: (You can run any of the two)
    dsa_control /a dsm://<host or IP>:<port>/
    dsa_control -a dsm://<host or IP>:<port>/

    Linux:
    dsa_control --activate dsm://<host or IP>:<port>/

     
    The value of "port" refers to the DSM heartbeat port, which is "4120" by default.
