When you try to install Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS) 7.0 Service Pack (SP) 1 on Windows 2011 Server, the following error message appears:
The Security Server cannot be installed on this computer because the system has installed a Windows Update without having been rebooted. Please reboot the computer before proceeding.
Click Finish to exit the Setup Wizard.
Restarting the computer several times does not fix the error.
This issue happens because enabling IIS 7.0 features such as CGI or IIS 6 Management Compatibility requires Windows to restart to apply the changes. In this case, WFBS setup is unable to configure the web site without the restart.
To resolve the issue:
- Using Windows explorer, go to %tmp%\OSCETEMP. To identify the directory where the tmp folder is located, open a command prompt and run "echo %tmp%".
- Locate and open the SVCINFO.log file with a text editor.
- Change the value of "IIS_Config_Need_Reboot" from "1" to "0" and save the file.
- Run again the WFBS 7.0 SP1 installation.
