- Device is partially or fully encrypted.
- Device is unable to boot to the FDE login screen.
- When booting off the FDE Repair CD, the DeviceID listed on the login screen is editable.
- Once authenticated to the FDE Repair CDs login screen, you do not have access to the Recovery Console because the Recovery Console access button is grayed out.
This happens when the FDE pre-boot, FDE Scratch Space, and/or the bootloader has an issue.
