AutoDesk Inventor/CADwith performs slow when Security Agent (SA) is running

Summary

The following applications slow down when the Security Agent runs:

  • AutoDesk Inventor
  • AutoCAD 3rd party application

When SA is disabled, the performance is normal.

To improve the performance of these applications, configure the following exclusions:

 
The paths below refer to a standard installation and may vary in case of customized installation.
  1. Log on to the Security Server console.
  2. Click Security Settings.
  3. Select a group, and then click Configure.
  4. On the left pane, click Trusted Program.
  5. Enter each of the following paths in the field provided, and then click Save
     
    Use semicolon to separate entries.
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2013\Bin\Inventor.exe
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault Professional 201\Explorer\Connectivity.VaultPro.exe
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\acad.exe
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor Fusion 2013\Inventor Fusion.exe
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\DWG TrueView 2013\dwgviewr.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\Autodesk Design Review 2013\DesignReview.exe
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Product Design Suite 2013\Bin\ProductDesignSuite.exe
  1. Log on to the Security Server console.
  2. Click Security Settings.
  3. Select a group, and then click Configure.
  4. On the left pane, click Antivirus/Anti-spyware.
  5. Click Exclusions to expand.
  6. Under Do not scan the following directories section, add the following path:
    C:\vaultworkspace
  7. Click Save.

Update the Security Agent of the affected machine to deploy the settings.

  1. Right-click the Security Agent icon.
  2. Select Update Now.

The performance for the Inventor Products should now improve.
