Forcing the pattern update for the Messaging Security Agent (MSA) in WFBS

Force the pattern update for the Messaging Security Agent (MSA) when you notice that its outdated from the Security Server Console.

To force MSA to update its patterns and engines:
  1. Open C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\Private\component.ini with a text editor (e.g. Notepad).
  2. Find the following entries and change their values to "0 0 0" as shown below:
    For x86:
    [6041]Version=0 0 0
    For x64:
    [6067]Version=0 0 0
  3. Save and close the file.
  4. Open C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\Private\ofcserver.ini with a text editor (e.g. Notepad).
  5. Find the following and make sure that its value is "1".
    FirstTimeServiceLaunchDoUpdate=1
    Note: The default value is "1". If the value is not equal to "1", change its value to "1".
  6. Save and close the file.
  7. Run "services.msc" to open the Services console.
  8. Restart Trend Micro Security Server Master Service to trigger a scheduled update.
