Deep Security shows outdated components after release of 8.0.0.1006 manifest

Since the release of the 8.0.0.1006 manifest on February 1, 2013, you have been getting warnings about out-of-date components, even if you have just performed a successful update.

Symptoms:

  • For Deep Security 8.0:
    • Components for version 9.0 appear in the Software Updates page.

      version 9.0 components

    • The Deep Security Virtual Appliance (DSVA) version appears incorrect or outdated, even after an update.

  • For Deep Security 8.0 Service Pack 2
    • The Updates pages on the Deep Security Agent (DSA) and DSVA show agent manifest files that are not the latest.

    • The Deep Security Manager (DSM) gets alert notifications similar to the warning below:

      Component(s) on x Agent/Appliances are not latest. Newer pattern or scan engine files are available and have not been distributed...

To resolve the Deep Security 8.0 symptoms, update to manifest 8.0.0.1007. This will resolve the inconsistent component versions that caused the issue. 
To resolve the Deep Security 8.0 SP2 symptoms, apply DSM SP2 patch 1. Contact Trend Micro Technical Support to get a copy of the patch.
We will expand our testing coverage to prevent the recurrence of similar issues.
