Unable to access the Intrusion Defense Firewall (IDF) console after database migration

You cannot access the IDF console after migrating the database to an external SQL server.

Upon checking the server0.log, it shows that you have insufficient disk even when you still have enough disk space.

During the IDF service initialization, it checks the IDF database "managernodes" table to get the "InstallDirectory" and "freeDiskOn". If these columns contain outdated information, the error happens.

To resolve the issue, modify the the database "managenodes" to correct the values of "InstallDirectory" and "freeDiskOn". For example, if the previous IDF installation is on driver D: while the current installation is on driver C:, you have to update the value to C:.

  1. Open a dos command.
  2. Enter the following:

    sqlcmd -S .\IDF -d IDF -E -s, -W -Q "update managernodes set installDirectory='c:\Program Files\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\Addon\Intrusion Defense Firewall', freeDiskOn='c:'"

    You should see the following:

    If you are using SQL server, you may adjust the .\IDF with your real SQL server instance name. For example, SQL_Server_IP\SQL_Server_InstanceName. The "-S" parameter specifies the server_name [ instance_name ].
