After updating to pattern files of the 10.xxx series, you noticed the following:
- Shortage of disk space on the InterScan Web Security Suite (IWSS) or InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA) host
- Pattern update no longer works
In pattern 10.xxx, the “getupdate” process started generating core dump files every few minutes. The presence of too many core dump files resulted in a shortage of disk space on the IWSVA/IWSS host.
The issue occurs in the following products:
- IWSVA 5.5 without Patch 2 (Build 1352) or higher
- IWSVA 5.1 Service Pack (SP) 1
- IWSVA 5.0 without Patch 2 (Build 1439) or higher
- IWSS 3.1 for Linux without Patch 5 (Build 1288) or higher
To resolve the issue, apply the latest patch for your product. You may check the Trend Micro Download Center for the latest patch:
If you are using IWSVA 5.1 SP1, apply Hot Fix Build 1235. For more information on the hot fix, refer to the IWSVA Hot Fix Build 1235 Readme file.
