This article provides a guide on how you can install WFBS 9.0. You can choose to install the product using Typical Installation or Custom Installation.
To install WFBS 9.0:
You can also refer to the video guide on how to do a Typical Installation of WFBS 9.0 to help you with the steps.
- Download the WFBS 9.0 installer and save it in your machine.
- Right-click the file and run the installer as Administrator.
- Click the Start button to extract the files.
- Click Next to begin the installation.
- Select I accept the terms of the license agreement, then click Next to continue.
- Under Setup Type, choose Typical Installation and click Next.
- Type the Activation Code including the dashes then click Next.
- On the WFBS Advanced Components Overview page, click Next
- Specify the path where you want to install the program. Click Next to continue.
- Type the desired password for the web console and the Security Agent, then click Next.
- On the Recipient(s) field, enter the email address to whom the reports and notifications will be sent.
- Tick Enable the Smart Protection Network and click Next to continue.
- Click Next to setup the Messaging Security Agent (MSA).
- Select the Yes, I would like to install Messaging Protection option to install the MSA.
- Enter the Exchange Account name and Password and then click Next.
- On the Summary page, click Next to continue with the installation.
- Click Next to install the Third-party Components.
- Click the Finish button to complete the setup.

- Download the WFBS 9.0 installer and save it in your machine.
- Right-click the file and run the installer as Administrator.
- Click the Start button to extract the files.
- Click Next to begin the installation.
- Select I accept the terms of the license agreement, then click Next to continue.
- Under Setup Type, choose Custom Installation and click Next.
- Type the Activation Code including the dashes then click Next.
- On the WFBS Advanced Components Overview page, click Next
- Specify the path where you want to install the program. Click Next to continue.
- Select where the setup will store the Smart Scan Server Database, then click Next.
- Select the Components to be installed. Then click Next to continue.
- Click Next to start the configuration of the Security Server.
- Choose if you want to run a Pre-installation scan or not, then click Next.
- Select the web serverthat will host the Security Server.
If IIS is installed choose any of the first two options.
If IIS is not installed, choose Apache.
- Select if you are going to use the FQDN or the IP address for the Web Server Address, then click Next.
- Type the desired password for the web console and the Security Agent, then click Next.
- On the Recipient(s) field, enter the email address to whom the reports and notifications will be sent.
- Tick Enable the Smart Protection Network and click Next to continue.
- If the Network is using a Proxy, fill out the necessary fields. Otherwise, click Next.
- Click Next to start the configuration of the Security Agent.
- Leave the default destination for all Security Agent installation paths as is and click Next.
- Select the default Server and Desktop group settings and then click Next.
- Provide the login credentials if the Proxy Server is available. Otherwise, click Next.
- Click Next to begin the configuration of the MSA.
- Choose Yes to install the MSA. Then provide the Exchange Account and Password and click Next.
- Specify the installation path for the MSA and then click Next.
- Click Next on the Summary page to continue the installation.
- Click Next to install the Third-party Components.
- Click the Finish button to complete the setup.
