During policy deployment, some OSCE clients show a "Pending" status and receive the message "Disabled Product Services" in TMCM.
When specific functionalities of OSCE clients are disabled and a policy is deployed that may enable the functionality, OSCE will return the message "Disabled Product Services".
OSCE clients with Disabled Products Services will retain the "Pending" status. However, some customers may not want to enable these services and do not consider the message as an error. TMCM policies only show "Pending" and "Deployed" statuses.
For example, a policy is set for Device Control settings to block USBs, but the Unauthorized Change Prevention service is disabled in the OSCE client. This configuration will result in a "Pending" and "Disabled Product Services" status.
Please note that “Disabled Product Services” indicate that the policy settings are still deployed. Only those settings where the corresponding product service is not enabled are not deployed.
There are two solutions to resolve this issue:
Option 1
Enable the related service on the managed product.
Option 2
After TMCM 6.0 Service Pack 3, all settings in OSCE Agent policies are now set to Centrally managed. Refer to Working with Legacy Policy Settings and Permission for details.
It is possible in TMCM 6.0 Service Pack 3 to consider “Disabled Product Services” as “Deployed” rather than as “Pending”. Do the following:
- Open a command prompt and go to the ..\Control Manager directory.
- Execute the following line and take note of the spelling and case sensitivity: XMLModify.exe m_strPolicyStatusMappingToSuccess 0,7 SystemConfiguration.xml
- Restart TMCM Manager service after applying the changes.
