Enabling compatibility mode to support Internet Explorer (IE) 11 in ScanMail for Exchange (SMEX) 11 Patch 1

Apply Patch 1 and use the compatibility view in IE 11 to avoid the following issues on SMEX:
  • One of the following warning messages appears upon opening SMEX 11 console:
    • ScanMail requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0/7.0/8.0 or Mozilla Firefox 3.0 to access the product console. Please update your browser.
    • Please use Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0/7.0/8.0 or Mozilla Firefox 3.0 to access the product console.
  • Some pages cannot be displayed after logging into SMEX 11 web console.

The issues occur because SMEX 11 GM build supports only the following browsers:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or later
SMEX 11 Patch 1 supports IE 11 under compatibility mode. Thus, the patch removes the warning message of the GM build when logging on or logging off the console, and resolves the problematic pages.
To activate the compatibility mode in IE 11:
  1. Open IE 11.
  2. Go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings.
  3. On the Add this website field, enter the SMEX 11 console URL.
  4. Click Add, and then click Close.
