HTTP Error 403 appears when clicking Manage Program of Security for Mac (TMSM) Plug-in

OfficeScan (OSCE) shows the following error message:

403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have the permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

The issue occurs due to the missing values of the following strings in the TMSM add-on hive:

  • For 64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro
    \OfficeScan\service\Aos\OSCE_ADDON_TMSM\1_1_X.X.XXX

To resolve the issue, manually add the string values in the registry:

  1. Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
     
    Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\
    OfficeScan\service\Aos\OSCE_ADDON_TMSM\1_1_X.X.XXX key.
  3. Enter the value of the following strings based on your product:

    For OfficeScan:

    • "_AOS_InstallFolder"= <Install Path of TMSM Plugin>

      For example, "_AOS_InstallFolder"= "C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\Addon\TMSM\"

    • "_AOS_PluginDllPathname"= <Install Path of TMSM Plugin\TMSM_AoSSrvPlugin.dll>

      For example, "_AOS_PluginDllPathname"= "C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Officescan\Addon\TMSM\TMSM_AoSSrvPlugin.dll"

    • "_AOS_UIDir_PhysicalFolderName_0"= <Folder Path of TMSM_HTML>

      For example, "_AOS_UIDir_PhysicalFolderName_0"= "C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Officescan\Addon\TMSM\TMSM_HTML"

    • "_AOS_UIDir_TotalUIDirectoryDataCount"="1"
