You cannot upgrade to the latest version of Trend Micro SafeSync due to either of the following:
  • An older version of Trend SafeSync is installed on your computer.
  • Trend Micro SafeSync 5.0 is already installed.

Resolve this issue by:
  1. Check the version of your Trend Micro SafeSync program by doing the following:
    1. Right-click the Trend Micro SafeSync icon in your system tray, then select Configuration.

    a. Right-click the Trend Micro SafeSync icon in your system tray, then select Configuration

    1. Click About.
  2. Do either of the following:
    • If the version is 5.0 or lower:
      1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs or Uninstall a program.
      2. Select Trend Micro SafeSync from the list, then click Uninstall or Remove.
      3. Download and install the latest version of Trend Micro SafeSync.
    • If the version is 5.1 or higher, then you already have the latest version installed.
