“Anti-Malware Engine Offline” status appears in the Deep Security Manager (DSM) console of Deep Security Virtual Appliance (DSVA)

The following error message appears in the DSM console after DSVA login:
Anti-Malware Engine Offline

The error occurs when the Anti-Malware (AM) function for DSVA is enabled. To resolve the issue, follow the steps below:
  1. Go to Policies > Deep Security Virtual Appliance policy > Details.
  2. Choose Anti-Malware.
  3. On the General tab, turn off Anti-Malware State.
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Go to Computers and find DSVA. Right-click on DSVA and click Actions > Send Policies.
  6. Once again, select DSVA and click Actions > Clear Warning / Errors.
DSM will now send the new policy along with the disabled Anti-Malware to DSVA. In return, the Anti-Malware Engine Offline status will not occur anymore.
