Below are the issues resolved by the hot fixes in OSCE 10.5:

Hot Fix 2448.1

Issue: Sometimes, the Virus Cleanup Template version on the OfficeScan client console becomes "0" after the client updates the template and loads the new version.

Solution: This hot fix enhances the version-checking mechanism to ensure that the correct Virus Cleanup Template version appears on the OfficeScan client console.

Hot Fix 2450

Issue: The OfficeScan firewall option, EnableTempBypassRule, adds a temporary ACCEPT ALL firewall rule above the DROP ALL anchor rule to prevent network disconnection on mission-critical network environments protected by OfficeScan clients. The ACCEPT ALL rule takes effect shortly after the firewall service initiates, however during the time before it takes effect, the network traffic may still get disconnected by the DROP ALL anchor rule.

Solution: This hot fix minimizes the time it takes for the ACCEPT ALL firewall rule to take effect after the firewall is initialized.

A network disconnection during OfficeScan client firewall profile update can be prevented by adding a temporary ACCEPT ALL firewall rule above the DROP ALL anchor rule before updating the firewall rule. Open the registry editor and manually add the following key on the client machine:

Path: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\PC-cillinNTCorp\CurrentVersion\PFW
Key: EnableTempBypassRule
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1

Restart the OfficeScan client afterwards.

Hot Fix 2467

Issue: An issue prevents Control Manager (TMCM) 6.0 from deploying 64-bit Behavior Monitoring Components to an OfficeScan server which is registered to it.

Solution: This hot fix updates some OfficeScan server files to ensure that Control Manager 6.0 can successfully deploy 64-bit Behavior Monitoring Components to registered OfficeScan servers.

Below are the issues resolved by the hot fixes in OSCE 10.6 SP2:

Hot Fix 3529

Issue: When users configure a customized scheduled update task using the DomainScheduleUpdate tool, the scheduled update time information on the Update Agent reverts to the default value.

Solution: This hot fix ensures that the Update Agent records and follows the configured scheduled update time.

Hot Fix 3528

Issue: OfficeScan's Device Control feature may not work on a USB HDD disk that a user has inserted and removed repeatedly and successively into and from the computer. This occurs because under this scenario, OfficeScan may not be able to recognize the corresponding device name. This prevents the Device Control feature from treating the device as a removable device.

Solution: This hot fix enables OfficeScan to correctly recognize USB device names under this scenario to ensure that the Device Control feature works properly on USB devices.

Hot Fix 3530

Issue: When the OfficeScan server sends the Web Reputation detection log to the Control Manager server, OfficeScan always sends the HTTP protocol and default port 80 information to the log even if the detection occurs when users access sites using HTTPS.

Solution: After applying this hot fix, the OfficeScan server checks the URL and sends the HTTPS protocol and port 443 information to the log when this situation occurs.

Hot Fix 3538

Issue: The Plug-in Manager service may attempt to access invalid resources during start-up which can trigger it to stop unexpectedly.

Solution: This hot fix ensures that the Plug-in Manager service accesses the correct resources.

Hot Fix 3534

Issue: The following error message appears when users attempt to upgrade OfficeScan through the OfficeScan Client Packager or AutoPccP.exe:

Unable to upgrade/update the OfficeScan client. At least one of the file cannot be replaced. Please try again.

This issue occurs because some backup files in the OfficeScan client temp folder have the same filename.

Solution: This hot fix ensures that during OfficeScan client updates, OfficeScan always names backup files using the name of the original files. This prevents any duplicate filenames and allows users to successfully upgrade the OfficeScan client program through the OfficeScan Client Packager or AutoPccP.exe.

Hot Fix 3535.1

Issue: When OfficeScan clients send File Reputation Service requests to the OfficeScan server, the Integrated Smart Scan Service (iCRCService.exe) may become unresponsive due to an allocation exception.

Solution: This hot fix updates the OfficeScan server files to allow it to handle the exception correctly.

Hot Fix 3531

Issue: Web Reputation Log on the OfficeScan client displayed it's generation time as 00:hh instead of the correct time.

Solution: This hot fix ensures that OfficeScan clients can display Web Reputation Logs with correct log generation time.

Hot Fix 3535

Issue: When an OfficeScan server monitors shared folder sessions, it monitors the session counts for one minute longer than the time period specified in the Outbreak Notification Settings criteria for shared folder sessions.

Solution: This hot fix ensures that OfficeScan servers follow the correct time period specified in the Outbreak Notification Settings criteria for shared folder sessions.

Hot Fix 3537

Issue: The Integrated Smart Scan Service (iCRCService.exe) runs into a high CPU usage issue while reloading the Smart Scan Pattern after a pattern update. When this happens, the OfficeScan server may temporarily stop processing smart protection queries.

Solution: This hot fix updates the OfficeScan server files to prevent the high CPU usage issue so the OfficeScan server can process smart protection queries while iCRCService.exe reloads the Smart Scan Pattern.

Hot Fix 3548

Issue: When users move OfficeScan clients from one OfficeScan server to another and these clients cannot retrieve the Other Update Settings of the new server, these clients will use the Other Update Settings of the old server. As a result, the clients move back to the old server.

Solution: This hot fix enables OfficeScan clients to correctly retrieve the Other Update Settings of the new OfficeScan server when users move clients from one server to another.

Hot Fix 3539

Issue: The OfficeScan server does automatically uninstall Symantec(TM) Endpoint Protection 11.0.6100.645, a third-party antivirus program, before installing the OfficeScan agent.

Solution: This hot fix ensures that the OfficeScan server does not automatically uninstalls Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.6100.645 from the computer before installing the OfficeScan agent.

Hot Fix 3559, Hot Fix 3554

Issue 1: While a computer protected by OfficeScan 10.6 shuts down, an application error message appears and warns users that the OfficeScan client's Trend Micro Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program, ShowMsg.exe, has failed.

Solution 1: This hot fix updates the Data Loss Prevention module of OfficeScan clients 10.6 so the corresponding computers can shut down successfully.

Issue 2: Endpoints that have both OfficeScan client and VirtualBox software installed may experience a BSOD due to an incompatibility between the Data Loss Prevention driver and VirtualBox.

Solution 2: This hot fix resolves the compatibility issue when running both OfficeScan and VirtualBox on the same endpoint.

Hot Fix 3557

Issue: OfficeScan sometimes cannot apply the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) hot fix correctly. When the Ntrtscan process checks the dlpver.ini file and tries to update the DLP module, the ActiveUpdate function of Tmlisten continues to download DLP components. DLP may fail to update its components since these components are not ready to be used.

Solution: This hot fix enables OfficeScan to add verification steps to both TmListen and Ntrtscan and check if ActiveUpdate is currently downloading the DLP components. DLP runs the update function after ensuring that ActiveUpdate completed downloading the DLP components.

Hot Fix 3560

Issue: An issue prevents users from logging on to the OfficeScan toolbox console from the Trend Micro Control Manager console through single sign-on (SSO).

Solution: This hot fix resolves the issue to ensure that users can log on to the OfficeScan toolbox console from the Control Manager console through SSO.

Hot Fix 3560.1

Issue: On the OfficeScan client console, when users select a folder and expand the selected folder using the keyboard command, the subfolders may not be selected automatically.

Solution: This hot fix updates the OfficeScan client files to ensure that the subfolders are always selected automatically when users select and expand folders using the mouse or keyboard.

Below are the issues resolved by the hot fixes in OSCE 10.6 SP3:

Critical Patch 5779

Issue 1: When starting the OfficeScan agent with POP3 email scanning enabled, the Real-time Scan (Ntrtscan.exe) service may not be able to start due to a timing conflict with the OfficeScan Listener (TmListen.exe) service.

Solution 1: This critical patch resolves the timing conflict by ensuring that the OfficeScan Listener service allows the RealTime Scan service to start before starting other services.

Issue 2: Under some situation, part of scanning process may hang and OfficeScan client may not be able to perform any action on the detected malware. When this happens, OfficeScan does not display a pop-up warning or generate a detection log.

Solution 2: This critical patch enables OfficeScan clients to perform the required action on malware detected under the scenario described above.

Issue 3: OfficeScan clients start firewall service improperly on the Microsoft Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 platforms.

Solution 3: This critical patch updates the OfficeScan client files to ensure that clients correctly start firewall service.

Hot Fix 5492

Issue: Users may encounter performance issues while running Microsoft Outlook using a Zarafa Server on computers protected by OfficeScan 10.6 and running on the Microsoft Windows 8 or 8.1 platform.

Issue: The information in the Action and User Justification Reason fields in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) logs generated by Control Manager 6.0 Service Pack 2 are not consistent with the information in the DLP logs generated by OfficeScan 11.0.

Solution: This hot fix resolves a log display issue between OfficeScan 11.0 and Control Manager 6.0 Service Pack 2 to ensure that the information in DLP logs generated by both products are consistent.

Hot Fix 1546

Issue: Some USB devices simulate both a disk drive and a CD-ROM drive and require users to launch a program in the CD-ROM to be able to access the information that is stored in the device. When OfficeScan is configured to block USB disks and CD-ROM drives, it still blocks the devices described above even after users add the devices to the USB disk exception list. Currently, the Trend Micro Data Loss Prevention(TM) module of OfficeScan only has an exception list for USB disks and none for CD-ROM drives.

Solution: This hot fix enables users to configure Data Loss Prevention to use the USB disk exception list as the CD-ROM drive exception list. This allows users to configure OfficeScan to allow these devices when it is set to block all other USB and CD-ROM devices.

Hot Fix 1549

Issue: USB devices that are in the approved list of an OfficeScan 11.0 client still trigger policies and pop-up notifications.

Solution: This hot fix updates the OfficeScan 11.0 client program files so that USB devices that are in the approved list do not trigger policies and pop-up notifications.

Hot Fix 1551

Issue: The OfficeScan server operations become unresponsive while generating domain setting packages for Update Agents. These packages are prepared for agents that update from a customized update source. When the domain structure is large, generating the packages may require too many resources, which blocks other OfficeScan operations. For example, users may not be able to log on the server console.

Solution: This hot fix updates the OfficeScan server to prevent the blockage of OfficeScan operations. When using the standard update source, the OfficeScan server will not generate the domain setting packages for Update Agents.

Hot Fix 1554

Issue: When the OfficeScan Master Service starts after the OfficeScan server has converted the original database to SQL mode, the files under the HTTPDB folder change unexpectedly.

Solution: This hot fix prevents the OfficeScan server from opening the CodeBase database when the OfficeScan Master Service starts in SQL mode to ensure that no unauthorized changes are made to the files in the HTTPDB folder.

Hot Fix 1555

Issue: When users use the OfficeScan 11.0 server migration tool to export the settings from an OfficeScan 10.6 server and import the same settings to an OfficeScan 11.0 server, agents under the imported domains will appear as non- compliant in compliance reports. This occurs because there are some new services in OfficeScan 11.0 related to the Web Reputation and AntiSpyware features, which are disabled in the imported domain since these services are not available on OfficeScan 10.6 servers.

Solution: This hot fix updates the server migration tool to ensure that it automatically enables the new services when it exports and imports the settings from an OfficeScan 10.6 server to an OfficeScan 11.0 server.

Hot Fix 1557

Issue: The EicarTest file created by the .NET framework in a network distributed file system (DFS) path cannot be quarantined successfully, instead, OfficeScan only displays an "Action required" notification when the virus is detected by real-time scan. This is triggered by the CentralWhiteList feature which delays any action on a detected virus and is enabled by default.

Solution: This hot fix allows users to disable the CentralWhiteList feature.

Hot Fix 1557.u

Issue: The OfficeScan server does not automatically uninstall the ESET NOD32 Antivirus x86 4.0.467.0 and x64 4.2.76.0 before installing the OfficeScan agent.

Solution: This hot fix ensures that the OfficeScan server automatically uninstalls the said third-party antivirus software before installing the OfficeScan agent.

Hot Fix 1561

Issue: When users use the "Or" operator to add more than two rules in a Trend Micro Data Loss Prevention(TM) (DLP) template, the "Or" operator becomes an "And" operator after the template is saved in the DLP XML file. When this happens, OfficeScan cannot perform the required action on a suspected threat that triggers the first rule only.

Solution: This hot fix resolves the issue by ensuring that the correct operator is saved in the DLP XML file.

Hot Fix 1564

Issue: The OfficeScan master service stops unexpectedly because the "libCmdHndlrConsoleV2.dll" module calls the wrong function to process the size of strings.

Solution: This hot fix resolves the issue by ensuring that the "libCmdHndlrConsoleV2.dll" module calls the correct function to process the size of strings.

Hot Fix 1567

Issue: When an OfficeScan agent detects certain virus, the "action result" field in the corresponding mail alert notifications may be left blank. This occurs because the email alert notification function cannot handle some new action result values.

Solution: This hot fix resolves the issue by enabling the mail alert notification function to handle these new action result values properly.

Hot Fix 1572.1

Issue: When users access the OfficeScan web console in Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and input Japanese characters while creating Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules, identifiers or policy, the Japanese characters disappear after users save the settings.

Solution: This hot fix ensures that Japanese characters are displayed normally on the OfficeScan web console in Internet Explorer 8.

Hot Fix 1575

Issue: The OfficeScan server sends out standard and outbreak notifications without any scan type information.

Solution: This hot fix adds an option to add scan type information in standard and outbreak notifications from the OfficeScan server.
