In some scenarios the upgrade from version 8.5 Service Pack 1 to version 9.0 fails because the folder content in /opt/trend/imss is not purged during upgrade.
If this issue applies the log file /var/app_data/installlog, the following error message appears:
2015/04/22 16:51:35 CEST [32296:-142702912] Fail to restore the imss home folder, exception: OSError - [Errno 39] Directory not empty [step.py:3289]
To solve the error during IMSVA 9.0 upgrade:
- Go to /opt/trend/ to check if the .imss folder exists. When there is an additional .imss folder, create a backup.
- Delete the .imss folder and run /mnt/backup/dry_run.sh as referenced in the InterScan Messaging Service Virtual Appliance 9.0 Installation Guide.
