To resolve the issue, setup IWSVA to use the Local Smart Protection Server (SPS):

  1. Log on to the web console.

  2. Go to Administration > IWSVA Configuration > Scan Method.

  3. Select Smart Scan with Local SPS.

  4. When filling out the "Primary Local SPS", follow this format:

    https://$YOUR_LSPS_IP/ss

Use "https" protocol. Do not miss the "/ss" suffix.

  5. Save the changes.

  6. SSH into IWSVA and try to ping your Local SPS. If you can ping, then you have successfully setup the IWSVA for using the Local SPS. If you cannot, proceed to step 7.

  7. Log in to your Local Smart Protection Network and login as root:

  8. The following commands are case sensitive and must be done in this order:

    iptables -A OUTPUT -p icmp --icmp-type echo-request -j ACCEPT
    iptables -A INPUT -p icmp --icmp-type echo-reply -j ACCEPT
    iptables -A INPUT -p icmp --icmp-type echo-request -j ACCEPT
    iptables -A OUTPUT -p icmp --icmp-type echo-reply -j ACCEPT

  9. Retry step 6.
