Installation failure due to issue updating File Group 100 module in Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS) 9.0 Service Pack (SP) 2

WFBS 9.0 SP 2 setup stops unexpectedly when updating related modules, specifically File Group 100.

WFBS 9.0 Service Pack 2 package - Setup

The following TM Patch logs show that there are issues with patching and updating the CGIOCommon.dll file because it is hooked to the OfcService.exe file.

To resolve the issue:

  1. Check the software version and SP 1 Build to make sure that the SP 1 Build is 2261.
  2. Once the above information is verified, go to Windows Services.
  3. Stop the Trend Micro Security Server Master Service.
  4. Re-install WFBS SP 2.
  5. If the update process passes File Group 100, the installation should push through.
  6. Log-in to the WFBS Server Console.
  7. Go to Help > About to verify if the Service Pack got installed.
