When running recommendation scans in IDF, you encounter the “Recommendation scan failure” alert. This is a normal and known issue in the IDF performance.
The following are workarounds to resolve the issue:
- Separate the scanning computers in several groups. Especially the computers that failed, since they took a longer time to scan. Group them separately to compete the CPU power. In severe instances, you may need to scan only that one problematic computer at a separate time.
- Increase the CPU power so that the CPU can be powerful enough for the scan to finish before the timeout limitation for scan action.
Make sure that the CPU usage setting for recommendation scan is “High”. If the setting is set to medium or low, it will take a longer time for the recommendation scan to finish.
- If the issue persists, add a CPU resource or use VP 2.0 SP1 instead.
