Summary

When running recommendation scans in IDF, you encounter the “Recommendation scan failure” alert. This is a normal and known issue in the IDF performance.

The following are workarounds to resolve the issue:

  • Separate the scanning computers in several groups. Especially the computers that failed, since they took a longer time to scan. Group them separately to compete the CPU power. In severe instances, you may need to scan only that one problematic computer at a separate time.
  • Increase the CPU power so that the CPU can be powerful enough for the scan to finish before the timeout limitation for scan action.
  • Make sure that the CPU usage setting for recommendation scan is “High”. If the setting is set to medium or low, it will take a longer time for the recommendation scan to finish.

  • If the issue persists, add a CPU resource or use VP 2.0 SP1 instead.
