How to find out how many users connect through InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA)

You would like to know how many users are connected to the internet through IWSVA as a proxy on a regular basis.

  1. Export the internet access logs from IWSVA

    1. Open the web console and go to Logs > Log Analysis > Internet Access.
    2. Choose the time range you are interested in.
    3. Click on the table icon in the top right-hand corner of the page to display detailed logs.
    4. Click on Export CSV file.
  2. Use a spreadsheet editor to create a filter that counts the unique values for the User Name or the Client IP column.

    If you are using Excel, refer to the Office KB article: Count unique values among duplicates.
