Using the ADProcessor tool in Endpoint Encryption 5.0

The ADProcessor tool is a lightweight tool that uses the same logic as the Policy Server to test domain authentication issues. This article enumerates the steps on how to use the ADProcessor tool.

To use the ADProcessor tool, follow these steps:

  1. Open Services.msc to check which account is running these services of the Policy Server:

    • Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption Service
    • PolicyServer Windows Service
    • IIS Admin

    ADProcessor.exe must be run as the same user.

  2. Download PSExec and the ADProcessor.
  3. Copy both the PSExec.exe and the ADProcessor.exe to the Desktop of the Policy Server.
  4. Run the command prompt as Administrator.
  5. Run the following command:

    1. If the services run as Local System account, run the ADProcessor as SYSTEM:

      C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop>psexec -s -i C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\ADProcessor.exe

    2. If they use domain user to run these service, run ADProcessor as domain user:

      C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop>psexec C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\ADProcessor.exe

  6. Input the parameters as you input in Common Policy.

     
    UserId and Password is the user you want to authenticate.

  7. Click Auth User and wait until the message “Done” is shown.
  8. Locate the file “Log_LdapConnector.txt” from the following locations:

    • 64 bit OS: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\
    • 32-bit OS: C:\Windows\System32\
  9. Send the log file back to Trend Micro Support Team.
