When deploying OSCE XG clients via the Agent Packager Tool, the package sizes are the following:
For 32-bit Setup Package:
- Setup Package (Conventional Scan) = 139 MB
- Setup Package (Smart Scan) = 103 MB
For 64-bit Setup Package:
- Setup Package (Conventional Scan) = 170 MB
- Setup Package (Smart Scan) = 133 MB
For 32/64-bit MSI Package:
- MSI Setup Package (Conventional Scan) = 264 MB
- MSI Setup Package (Smart Scan) = 227 MB
However, administrators would like to determine the network bandwidth utilization per agent when they are being upgraded over the network. This information will aid them in staging deployments based on the network bandwidth requirements.
The amount of data used depends on the agent Operating System (32-bit or 64-bit) and the scan method used (Conventional Scan or Smart Scan).
The following shows the approximate amount of data transferred over the network per client when an upgrade is performed:
This data was collected under the following conditions:
- The upgrade is from OSCE 11.0 Service Pack 1 Critical Patch build 4150 to OSCE XG Build 1222
- Conventional and Smart Scan agent upgrades were tested
- 32-bit and 64-bit Operating Systems were tested
Conventional Scan Agents:
Total Bandwidth Consumed in Megabytes (MB) per client:
- 32-bit agents - ~194 MB
- 64-bit agents - ~234 MB
Smart Scan Agents:
Total Bandwidth Consumed in Megabytes (MB) per client:
- 32-bit agents - ~152 MB
- 64-bit agents - ~188 MB
Additional information about the amount of data transferred per component is available in the Estimated upgrade size to OSCE XG spreadsheet.
