Updating ServerProtect fails and the following error appears:

Update program can not get the source file from information server. Return code: 538051334

The error appears because the ServerProtect Information Server is not able to retrieve the GUID of the Normal Server. This commonly happens if the IP address is mapped to another hostname or if the Normal Server has multiple hostnames.

To resolve this, choose one of the following options:

  • If the server has multiple hostnames, remove the affected Normal Server from the Information Server and register it using its other hostname.
  • Remove the affected Normal Server from the Information Server and register it as an IP address.
  • Add the affected Normal Server’s hostname in the Information Server’s hosts file.
