All versions of SecureCloud As A Service (SecureCloud SaaS) and SecureCloud On-Premise will reach End-of-Support (EOS) on November 15, 2017. Trend Micro will no longer develop hot fixes and patches for the products and will stop the SecureCloud SaaS Service after the EOS date. SecureCloud SaaS users will not be able to retrieve keys for the encrypted devices and technical support will not be available after EOS.
All versions of SecureCloud As A Service (SecureCloud SaaS) and SecureCloud On-Premise will reach EOS on November 15, 2017. After the EOS date, support services for SecureCloud will no longer be available. This also means that Trend Micro will no longer develop hot fixes or patches for both SecureCloud On-Premise and SecureCloud SaaS.
After the EOS date, SecureCloud SaaS Server will be stopped. Customers will not be able to access to SecureCloud console and approve device keys. SecureCloud Agents will not be able to retrieve device keys from SecureCloud SaaS Server. As a result, users will no longer be able to decrypt and mount encrypted devices unless you export and back your device keys.
The device keys will no longer available on SecureCloud SaaS Server after the EOS date. For all encrypted devices, export and backup the device keys before the EOS date. For the export instructions, refer to the following topic in the Online Help: Exporting Device Keys.
The exported key should be kept until corresponding encrypted devices are retired.
For a data device, mount the device as usual and copy decrypted files to a new device.
For a boot device, set up a new boot device and copy necessary files from original boot device.
For SecureCloud On-Premise, there is no immediate impact. The keys for the encrypted devices managed by the On-Premise server still can be retrieved from and approved by the server.
For SecureCloud SaaS, users will not be able to decrypt and mount encrypted devices because SecureCloud agents managed by SaaS Server will not be able to retrieve keys for the encrypted devices from the server.
No, SecureCloud does not provide tools or features to permanently decrypt a device.
For the instructions, refer to the following topic in the Online Help: Restoring a Device with an Exported Encryption Key.
